Kathleen F. Morrissey Good Read

Allan Stratton wrote a great novel, Chanda's Secrets, on the effects of AIDS on a teen and her family and community in Africa. I highly recommend this book published in 2004 and would like to see Alicia Keyes promote this book to her fans. The Reader Continue

Nafiesa Rasoelbaks Joining Keep A Child Alive for India

I'm gonna be completely honest with you, so read all and then judge. The first time I heard of KCA was through Alicia Keys. Yes, I am in her fan club, yes I'm 25, I know it's lame, but it's okay I'm a member since 2002 ;-) So AK went to Africa and talking about KCA, helping out and suddenly everyone in the fan club was buzzing about it. A few friends of mine began doing this charity at a school and I designed some t-shirts that were sold and the money was donated to KCA. While all this happened… Continue

Jalina Evans My Ode To Hip Hop

Hip Hop's "golden age' was the theme on Saturday, October 17, 2009 as I showcased my paintings that were inspired by this amazing culture. To give the evening an extra "hip hop" feel, guest were asked to dress in old school 80's attire. The evening went great as we were taken back down memory lane as DJ Mz Deluxx played classic hip hop from 9pm-2am. 100% of the admission proceeds were donated to KCA! I would like to thank everyone who braved the messy weather on Saturday to come out and suppor… Continue

I don't know exactly what it was but I just needed to give and not anything I wanted it to be meaningful and to have all my friends and family involved! I love to sing and act and dance and I thought wouldn't it be a great idea to hold a night of great Jazz and soul and give all the money to Keep A Child Alive?! HECK YA!! I want to be able to change someone else's life and make sure that they can live and have the… Continue

Tarek Mouganie Half Ironman

In July 2009, thanks to a lovely KCA Alum, I decided to compete (okay, that should be in quotations) in an Olmypic Triathlon. A few months later, I am foolishly trying to do a Half Ironman! The training has been tough, but thanks to my coach, Fiona Ford (www.triathloneurope.com), I have been welcomed into a wonderful community of athletes whose main focus is on their health and wellbeing. I guess most of us are blessed in that we are in good health. We have received a good education and know w… Continue

Alyssa Rodriguez Spanish Club -- benefits KCA

So school just started and my spanish teacher always sponsors the Spanish Club at my school and the first meeting was this past week so I asked Mrs. Leyva (my spanish teacher) if our goal this year could maybe be to donate to KCA. She said "Yes, of course! That would be great!" So she got online and printed out some guidlines for fundraisers and such, and the plan is sure fire. I can't wait to get started! =)) Continue

consuela Back to school- KCA

The new academic year is quickly arriving and things are coming along quickly. So a mission for us in association with KCA it's to put our efforts together and to get as much people as possible. The main goal is to raise money but the most important is to share what KCA is really about and what an individual can do. I believe that in one school, the movement should not stay close to those who are already aware of KCA but to open this organization to those around them.Even if we are a part of a sc… Continue
