Canada

Jessica Rebeiro: Queens University: Class of 2010: Life Sciences
“My vision for ending AIDS involves us – as youth and human beings – refusing to stand by as the world fails to help. My vision is that we will have the courage and determination to make others so informed about this issue that we will all be unified in the fight against AIDS. My vision is that we will care enough to ensure that AIDS is a disease spoken of in the past tense rather than the present.”

Great Lakes (WI, IL, MI, IN, OH)

Jennifer Mejia: Northern Illinois University: Class of 2010: Math Education
“My vision to end the AIDS pandemic is to keep spreading the word about this devastating virus and its magnitude and to motivate people to take action. KCA does that and so by spreading the word of KCA we can not only educate people about AIDS, but also help keep children alive by providing the medications and care necessary to those in need.”

Mid-Atlantic I (NY, PA, DC)

Billy Gonyou: St. Joseph’s College: Class of 2010: English, Religious Studies and Peace & Justice Studies
“My vision is simple; I want AIDS removed from this planet. I may not have the ability to develop a cure, but I do have the power to motivate and inspire thousands of people to stand and fight with me. Before anything can happen, we need to develop an army and get the entire world on our side. AIDS needs to end and we need to pave the way for the end to come.”

Mid-Atlantic II (NJ, DE, MD)

Carmella Christensen: Montclair State University: Class of 2010: Psychology
"I feel that the fight to eradicate AIDS is our generation's challenge. We can show the world that AIDS is not stronger than we are. Compassion and determination of the human spirit will win this fight."

Mid-West (MO, KS, NE, ND, SD, MN, IA)

Tiffany Johnson: Washington University in St. Louis: Class of 2010: Anthropology and African and African-American Studies
“My vision for ending AIDS is that people will stop being complacent with death and injustice and continue to mobilize to find an affordable and efficient cure.”

New England (ME, NH, VT, RI, CT, MA)

Pacific Coast (WA, OR, CA, ID, MT, WY, AK, HI)

Jade Wagner: University of California - Irvine: Class of 2013
"Any one person can make a difference, so I though by starting a club on campus that focused on raising awareness on such a serious topic such as HIV/AIDS and how it affects people around the world I knew that we could change at least one person's life. Through information booths, movies and events that raised money for KCA, while spreading awareness, is only the beginning of what we can accomplish."

South (AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, WV)

Shanna McCormick: Central Arkansas University: Class of 2010
“It is one of the most important things in my life to continue to work for KCA and all of the children and families KCA is helping. I think ending AIDS is the most important challenge facing my generation. Most people in the world say people like us are "foolish" and "just dreamers" and ask why we are doing what were doing, it's not making a difference, but I say let me be "foolish" enough to believe that I can make a difference and let me dream big enough to where I already think that my dream has come true and that is to END AIDS, period.”

South-East (VA, NC, SC, GA, FL)

Ryann J Logan: University of North Carolina - Greensboro
"My vision to end the AIDS pandemic is to first spread the word and educate my peers about this immense issue that is quickly killing us. The college community is growing at an incredible rate and by getting involved in fundraisers, raising awareness and KCA involvement I hope to make a change, and build a personal relationship with the children we are helping. I am only one person but I have faith in my team and KCA family that we can make a big difference."

South-West (TX, NM, AZ, CO, UT, NV, OK)

Devin Creer: Arizona State University: Class of 2012: Public Relations and Political Science
"My vision is that we can unite as human beings and extinguish this planet of HIV/AIDS. In order to get rid of this problem we need to come together and be apart of the solution. As college students we will set the standard for future generations. Innovation seems to be a common aspiration among this generation and I believe that raising awareness about this pandemic is something that we need to aspire to creatively. We should not let ourselves be bound by fear but rather soar with inspiration to eradicate this virus."
